Terms and Conditions
- Assumption of Risk
By participating in the event, all participants acknowledge and accept that indoor golf simulation activities carry inherent risks, including but not limited to physical strain, equipment-related injuries, and accidents resulting from improper use of the facilities or equipment. - Waiver of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, participants hereby waive, release, and discharge the event organizers, sponsors, venue operators, staff, affiliates, and any associated third parties from any and all liability for personal injury, property damage, loss, or death arising out of or in connection with participation in the event, regardless of whether such injury or damage is caused by negligence. - Indemnification
Participants agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the organizers and affiliated parties from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses (including attorney's fees) arising from their conduct, misuse of equipment, violation of these terms, or breach of applicable laws. - Medical Responsibility
Participants are responsible for determining their physical fitness and capability to participate in the event. The organizers assume no responsibility for any medical conditionsor emergencies that may occur before, during, or after participation. - Equipment Damage
Any participant found to be willfully or negligently damaging simulation equipment or property may be held financially responsible for repair or replacement costs. The organizers reserve the right to seek reimbursement through appropriate legal means. - Force Majeure
The organizers shall not be liable for any failure or delay in the performance of obligations due to causes beyond their control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, war, pandemics, government restrictions, or technical failures. - Insurance
Participants are encouraged to carry their own health, travel, or accident arrangements, as the event does not provide any such coverage.Media and Privacy
- Use of Name and Image
By registering for and participating in the event, participants grant the organizers and affiliated sponsors the right to use their name, image, voice, likeness, and any photographs or video recordings taken during the event for promotional, marketing, and publicity purposes in any media, without further notice or compensation. - Data Collection and Usage
Participants acknowledge and agree that personal information collected during registration— including but not limited to name, email address, and phone number—may be used by the event organizers for administrative purposes, event updates, and future marketing communications. - Information Sharing with Sponsors
By participating, individuals expressly consent to the sharing of their name and contact details (such as email address and phone number) with event sponsors for marketing and promotional purposes. Sponsors may contact participants directly with offers, promotions, or information related to their products or services. - Opt-Out Option
Participants who wish to opt out of having their information shared with sponsors may do so by notifying the organizers in writing at the time of registration or by emailing info@thelounge.golf. - Privacy Compliance
All personal data will be collected, processed, and stored in accordance with the Omani Personal Data Protection Law (Royal Decree No. 6/2022). Organizers will take all reasonable measures to ensure that participants’ data is protected and handled lawfully, transparently, and for legitimate purposes only.

Definitions
D1. Handicap: A numerical measure of a golfer's potential ability.
D2. Simulator: The virtual golf setup used for all games in the Championship.
D3. Gross Score: The actual number of strokes taken by the player.
D4. Net Score: Gross score adjusted by the player's handicap.
D5. Adjudicator/Umpire: The person overseeing the match and making rulings.
Section 1: Registration
1.1 Registration is done on The Golf Lounge website www.thelounge.golf.
1.2 To participate, 50 OMR to be paid at the time of registration.
1.3 The last day of registration is the 26th of June.
1.4 The registration fee is strictly allocated to facility usage and event-related costs. It does not constitute a wager, bet, or any form of gambling, and is intended solely to cover operational expenses associated with the event.
1.5 Those who will compete on international golfing stage, must ensure they adhere to the rules set out in those regulatory bodies.
1.6 Eligibility for Qualifiers: Open to all age groups 18 years and above, for both men and women.
1.7 Refunds will be available until June 27th. No refunds will be issued after this date under any circumstances.
1.8 Participation is limited and will be granted strictly on a first-come, first-served basis.
Section 2: Handicap Establishment Rules
Even if a player possesses an official OGA (Oman Golf Association) handicap, they are still required to establish a separate Golf Simulator Handicap to ensure fair and adequate handicap allocation for simulator play.
2.1 Initial Handicap Setup:
2.1.1 All players are required to complete two supervised rounds on the simulator before an official handicap will be issued.
2.1.2 The courses on which the rounds will be played shall be announced prior to their commencement.
2.1.3 The handicap rounds will take place from July 1st to August 2nd. Matches will be held only on the designated dates to be announced. Players must be available on these days for scheduling purposes.
2.1.4 All participants are required to complete the two games by August 3rd.
2.2 Handicap Calculation:
Below formula for each round:
Handicap Differential = (Score Course Rating) × 113 / Slope Rating
Calculate the handicap as the average of the 2 rounds. Apply a 0.96 multiplier for fairness.
2.3 Ongoing Handicap Updates:
After the first two rounds, each player's handicap will be updated based on their performance in the qualifying round. The qualifying round will account for 60% of the weighted average across all three rounds
2.4 Simulator Settings:
To ensure fairness and consistency across all matches, the simulator software and hardware settings will be standardized for every round of play. This includes:
- Course Conditions: Pre-set for each round and communicated before play.
- Wind, fairways, and Green Speed: Fixed and uniform across all players
- Putting Mode & Gimme Settings: Gimmes will be set to 2 feet and automatically applied by the simulator. All other putts must be played out.
- Hardware Calibration: All simulator stations will be calibrated identically and monitored by officials
Players are not permitted to adjust simulator settings. Any tampering or manipulation will lead to immediate disqualification.
Section 3: Championship Structure – Qualifiers & Finals
3.1 Championship Format Overview:
The Championship will consist of:
A Qualifying Round (multiple weeks)
Final Tournament (single stroke play event with top qualifiers)
3.2 Qualifying Rounds
3.2.1 Duration & Participation:
The qualifying rounds will take place from August 14th to September 14th, exclusively on designated dates to be announced. Participants must ensure their availability on those dates for scheduling purposes.
3.2.2 Scoring & Standings:
Each round is scored by gross and net stroke play.

3.2.3 Qualification Criteria:
Upon conclusion of the qualifying rounds, the top 28 players, determined by gross scores, will advance to the Final
3.2.4 Special Consideration:
If no female participants qualify for the Final, a separate final may be organized for women, provided that more than five women have registered. Prizes for this event are outlined in Section 3.3.3
3.3 Final Tournament – Stroke Play (28 Players)
The final round date will be announced. Provisionally, the date is set for the 27th of September.
3.3.1 Format:
18 hole stroke play event on a selected course.

3.3.2 Tiebreakers:
Ties for all categories and positions will be broken using:
1. Back 9 score
2. Last 6 holes
3. Last 3 holes
4. Hole by hole from 18th backward
5. 18th hole to be played until the tie is broken.
3.3.3 Prizes:

Section 4: Equipment
4.1 Players may choose to use golf clubs provided by The Golf Lounge or their own personal clubs.

4.2 Once a player starts a game using a particular set of clubs, they must continue using that same set for the entire game.
4.3 Players must supply their own golf balls during gameplay.
4.4 Players cannot share golf clubs unless they are using the lounge provided clubs.
4.5 Players must adhere to the standard regulation number of golf clubs permitted per set (maximum of 14 clubs).
4.6 Players cannot share golf balls during gameplay.
4.7 Players are responsible for providing their own tees for use during gameplay
Section 5: Match Oversight & Administration
5.1 The registration fee solely covers the use of the facility for handicap-setting rounds, qualifying rounds, and the Final, in addition to snacks and beverages provided during the Final. It does not constitute a wager or bet of any kind and is intended only to cover event-related expenses.
5.2 All qualifying rounds, handicap games, and the final match must be conducted in the presence of an umpire.
5.3 Players are requested to book on the days available for adjudication which will be communicated on the email address provided by the players.
5.4 A WhatsApp group will be created to inform the players of the date.
5.5 Umpires will be assigned by The Golf Lounge management, and their rulings will be final in all disputes.
5.6 Each qualifier consists of one game played on a course assigned by The Golf Lounge management prior to the start of the qualifying stage.
5.7 The final course will be selected and announced by The Golf Lounge management no later than three days before the final.
5.8 Players are strictly prohibited from touching the simulator screen at any time without prior approval from the Umpire, except for adjusting the direction of the target location. All other setting modifications must be requested through the Umpire and executed in their presence. Unauthorized contact with the screen—without the Umpire’s consent and direct supervision—may result in immediate disqualification from the tournament without refund. The Umpire retains the authority to deny any requested changes deemed to provide an unfair advantage.
5.9 In case the umpire makes a mistake—such as pressing the wrong button during a ball drop, redirecting the direction of a shot, or any other technical action—the following procedure applies:
- a. The action will be treated as an honest mistake.
- b. No penalties will be applied to the player.
- c. The umpire will make reasonable corrections to restore the situation to its originalor nearest fair state.
- d. If correction is not possible, the situation will be treated as an unavoidable circumstance and play will continue.
- e. Players are expected to show understanding and uphold sportsmanship.
5.10 In case of technical issues:
- 1. If the system shuts down or freezes and play cannot resume, the system will be reset by the Umpire and a resumption button can be pressed by the Umpire to continue the game.
- 2. If a hit is not detected by the simulator, the player must redo the shot, and the stroke will not be counted.
- If the system registers a shot that was not actually taken and the ball is shown to have moved, a mulligan may be granted at the discretion of the Adjudicator or Umpire, depending on the circumstances.
- 4. If the game cannot be resumed after a shot has been taken, the game will not be resumed.
- 5. If the game cannot be resumed after a glitch, a new game will be set up using the last saved scores and the remaining holes will be played as a continuation.
- If the last scores could not be retrieved, the game must be restarted from the first hole.
5.11 Simulator integrity must be maintained. Any disconnects or glitches must be reported immediately. Cheating or manipulation of settings will result in disqualification.
Section 6: Code of Conduct
All participants are expected to uphold the integrity and spirit of the game. The following standards of behavior apply throughout the Championship:
- Respect: Show courtesy and respect toward fellow players, umpire, and staff at all times.
- No Abuse: Verbal abuse, offensive language, or aggressive behavior will not be tolerated.
- Sportsmanship: Maintain a high level of sportsmanship, win or lose.
- Compliance: Follow all Championship rules and adhere to decisions made by officials without dispute.
Failure to comply with the Code of Conduct may result in penalties or disqualification from the Championship.
All participants are expected to uphold the integrity and spirit of the game. The following standards of behavior apply throughout the Championship:
